The famous Cathedral Cove Coastal Walkway is located on the Coromandel Peninsula in New Zealand. The full coastal walkway starts from Hahei Beach and ends at Cathedral Cove. On the way there are many places you can stop off at; to name just a few. 'The Lookout' for some of the most fantastic views you are ever likely to see. Along the walk there is a protected Marine Reserve. Drop down from the walkway onto Gemstone Bay for some of the best 'off the beach' snorkelling in New Zealand. A little further along you can also drop into Stingray Bay, a beautiful sandy beach where the rays can be seen swimming around you. Once back onto the walk it's not far until you arrive at the famous Te-whanganui-a-hei. (Cathedral Cove.) This is where you will find the enormous arched cavern that passes through the rock headland and joins two beautiful secluded sandy beaches. There are also several magnificent, majestic white rock formations crafted by nature sprouting up from the sea. With so much to see and do, you may just need more than 1 day to enjoy it all.
