코로나 3년 이제는 '비상'에서 '일상'으로
Tomorrow, on January 20th, South Korea enters the fourth year of the COVID-19 era.
A rollercoaster three years on from the first case being announced here, we are seemingly a step closer to the removal of indoor mask mandates.
We look back at the past three years and also the next three years to come, with Professor Howard Lee from Seoul National University.
Welcome to the program!
1. We've come a long way: tight border restrictions, mandatory QR code check-ins, easing of the outdoor mask mandate, and much more.
How would you evaluate the past three years? What has Korea done well to fight the pandemic?
2. According to the latest data, South Korea ranks 7th in the world in terms of the total number of confirmed cases and 34th when it comes to the number of deaths. The figures are concerning considering South Korea's population.
How would you evaluate the Covid situation here at the moment and in the near future?
3. Tomorrow, the country's health authorities are set to announce details on the much-anticipated lifting of the indoor mask mandate.
I'm sure it's something many of us have looked forward to, but there are also voices of concern over the move.
What do you think South Korea, in particular, needs to be extra mindful of after the restriction is removed?
Thank you for your time this morning. We appreciate it.
