In this episode of the Podcast I reflect on the life of Harry Sparnaay who sadly passed away on December 12, 2017, and then re-broadcast the conversation (in full) that we had back in 2016 on the podcast. In this conversation Harry reflected on his life as a pioneering bass clarinetist, why he considered the bass clarinet the "Emperor of the Instruments," and the story of his first experience playing music, which he describes in unbelievable detail even after more that 50 years since the day it occurred. RIP Harry Sparnaay, you will be sorely missed and I greatly appreciate your contributions to the clarinet community.
