Southern Sea Slaters - Also known as Sea Roaches or Rock Lice. These are isopods found in the high intertidal area that follow the tides in and out eating detritis - dead plant and animal materials. They can detect the slightest movement and recording them required sitting very still for a while till the isopods came out of hiding.. Maplewood Flats , North Vancouver BC. September 1 , 2019.
