Any consistent pressure applied to a piercing during its healing period pushes the jewelry on an angle and can cause it to heal crooked! This is especially true for cartilage piercings like the Helix, Conch, Tragus, and Forward Helix! Although this can also happen with other piercings such as Nostrils, Navels, and Ear Lobes as well. Once a piercing begins to heal crooked/on an angle, the only way to correct it is to remove the jewelry, allow it to heal over and re-pierce it. If left in place it will continue to be problematic, painful, and can lead to things like excess scar tissue build up, and rejection. If you have a piercing that is healing, do not sleep on it!
