Søren Kierkegaard wrote nine upbuilding discourses in 1843 and nine more in 1844. He published them altogether as Eighteen Upbuilding Discourses in 1845. A hundred years later David F Swenson translated the discourses into English and then Howard and Edna Hong translated them again in 1990. This is a short reading from the Hong translation about the will, the good, expectation, resolution and equality before God.
