Opening an account in the name of a minor is similar to opening a regular demat account. However, do remember that a minor cannot trade from this account.

A minor’s demat account will be operated by the Natural Guardian (Mother/ Father) till the minor becomes a major. Such an Account can be opened at any of the leading Brokers (Zerodha, Angel One, etc.)

Documents required for opening such an account are:

Minor’s PAN copy signed by the guardian.
Self-attested copy of the PAN of the guardian.
Address Proof (Aadhar, DL, Passport, etc.)
Canceled Cheque
Birth Certificate Copy

As part of the mandatory In-Person Verification (IPV) requirement for all brokers, Webcam or a physical verification is required.
