(22 Oct 1953) Beautiful girls from fifteen countries competed in London for the title of "Miss World". Among the judges were David Niven, Mr Charles Eade (Sunday Dispatch Editor), and Miss Margaret Lockwood. They decided that "Miss France" was the winner, who received £500 and the sash of honour.
