Erich Fromm is an often overlooked thinker who emerged from the early Frankfurt School. His psychoanalytic roots and philosophical perspectives make his perspectives very valuable. In addition his writing style is brilliant!

His "The Art of Loving" is a concise and strong take on criticising contemporary conceptions of love. Its counter proposition is honest but may be outdated due to the fact that our Zeitgeist seemingly opposes commitment and effort in human interrelations.
