this is what seems to work best for me.. do not send siege make sure you, send your leader and the correct heroes for the type of troops you are sending to battle, do not send the wrong heroes, any attack boost you get count so use those if you can, make sure you are in war gear and talents.. send your strongest tier of troops only if possible.. and all that good stuff....
