Legislation signed by Republican Utah Gov. Spencer Cox on Thursday forbids kids under 18 from using social media between the hours of 10:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m., and will also require age verification for anyone who wants to use social media in the state.
Dr. Richina Bicette-McCain says while many people are aware of the benefits of social media, there are also dangers. Bicette-McCain, however, says educating parents on safe social media use will have more of an impact on teens and children than government laws.
She joined "NewsNation Live" to talk about the Utah law and other health headlines.
