A state of emergency has been declared in the New Zealand city of Christchurch, after a devastating earthquake struck early this morning. The 7.0 magnitude quake shook the south island as residents slept. Incredibly only two people were seriously injured. The quake caused major damage to the city's infrastructure, which will cost two billion dollars to fix.
