Schneider National has joined most of the rest of us in 2021 and will begin paying drivers on practical miles instead of household goods miles beginning about the end of July. I say it is about time. Schneider trucking has been stuck in 1956 by paying truck drivers hhg miles instead of practical miles. Schneider always had an excuse of there is no way to do this or this is just what the industry does and we all know that is not true. It is my opinion that they just wanted to squeeze a few more bucks out of the freight for the higher ups as long as they could. Due to driver feedback the day has finally come where Schneider pays what the industry pays. I personally think drivers should get paid for all of their time and the days of mileage pay should be over but because of this change at Schneider most drivers there will be getting a raise. Apparently Schneider intermodal drivers were already getting practical miles so they won't get the raise. Although not a Schneider review, I just comment on the new Schneider pay plan. Let me know if you see this on your paycheck in July when they get started.
