Dave Weigel then joins, diving right into the major Selzer poll out of Iowa, what it shows us regarding Harris’ overwhelming support from women, and what this poll (and others) can tell us about the success of Harris’ voter outreach across swing states. Weigel, Sam, and Emma also parse through the numbers behind early voting, why Democrats aren’t particularly pressed about them, and the evolving constituency of independent voters, before touching on the GOP’s GOTV fiasco – led by Elon Musk and Charlie Kirk. After briefly reflecting on the lingering impact of Trump’s Bund rally at MSG, they get into a preview of the Senate fight, what the best/worst case scenarios are for Dems and Republicans across the Presidency, House, and Senate, and what particular races might act as bellwethers for the greater election. Sam also highlights a John Oliver segment on Georgia Rep. Ruwa Romman’s comments on voting for Harris.
