MOSES LAKE, Wash. - Eight people were arrested in Moses Lake on federal drug trafficking charges and violent offenses.
According to the Eastern District of Washington U.S. Attorney's office, Solomon Valle-Chavarria, Pedro Valley-Chavarria, Jose Mauricio Rodrigues-Sanchez, and Paulino Portillo-Orozco were arrested on a seven-count indictment including methamphetamine distribution and unlawful firearm possession.
A firearm in their possession is believed to be used in a murder that happened in November 2023 in Montlake Park.
Troy S. McLanahan was charged after Moses Lake Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) found 35 firearms and more than one pound of meth in McLanahan's home.
Rebecca A. Jimenez was arrested for her role in an incident from January 2022 where a vehicle was set on fire in a Motel 6 parking lot over a drug debt.
Cameron Ross was arrested for distribution, attempted distribution, and conspiracy to distribute fentanyl pills in the Moses Lake community.
Nicholas E. Essex was arrested for distribution of meth in the Moses Lake community.
“During the arrests in these cases, illegal drugs and a large number of firearms were taken off our streets, demonstrating the significant impact that is felt when federal, state and local law enforcement work together,” said U.S. Attonery Vanessa Waldref.
