July 20, 2105 - NAZ Today reports The Navajo Nation is set to have referendum vote this Tuesday to determine whether fluency in the Navajo language should be a requirement to run for the tribe's presidential seat.
It is a question that dominated much of the conversation in this past years election and led to the disqualification of candidate Chris Deschene. An affirmative vote tomorrow on the referendum would let Navajo candidates run for the office of President without proving that they are fluent in the language.
