My take on intermittent fasting? Not a fan.🍏🚫
While intermittent fasting might have some health perks like reducing inflammation and boosting metabolism, the misconceptions can lead us astray in our weight loss and wellness journey. Here's why:
1️⃣ It's often seen as a shortcut to fat loss, but in reality, it can lead to muscle loss and increased hunger. Muscle is crucial for fat burning and keeping our metabolism firing on all cylinders. Plus, starving ourselves for extended periods isn't sustainable or healthy in the long run.
2️⃣ Deprivation can backfire, causing overeating when we do finally eat, potentially leading to weight regain. It's a vicious cycle that can mess with our relationship with food and our bodies.
3️⃣ It doesn't address underlying habits or mental health concerns. Cutting ourselves off from eating isn't a sustainable solution. We need to dig deeper to understand why we eat the way we do and how to build healthier habits that last.
The bottom line? Intermittent fasting isn't a magic fix.
