The Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) says cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among South African women.
According to CANSA one of the leading causes of this cancer is the human papilloma virus (HPV), which accounts for 80% cases in South Africa. They also noted that one in 39 South African women will be diagnosed with cervical cancer and over half of them will be between the ages of 35 and 55 years old. Joining us this morning is Graham Anderson, CEO and principal officer of Profmed and he will be talking to us about this issue.
