*20th round in the "surplus" test gave an erroneous reading, I substituted that value with the average of the previous 19 rounds. I don't believe missing one round in a 20 round string would affect the overall results enough to re-shoot the string.

My Thoughts?
Even though it is about 3x the price as it used to be, the surplus ammunition still provides the best "value" for range fun. I did have a couple of stoppages with the surplus ammo, I believe this to be related to the old and worn out magazines. I'm extremely surprised by the performance of the Winchester ammunition, I thought that was going to be the weakest, too bad it's so expensive... Since the S&B was the most powerful, and also reasonably priced, I think that is what I would suggest if you are going to use this cartridge for actual defensive purposes. I was not able to source any of the Red Army brand of this caliber. If I can find some I'll run it through the chrony.
If you have seen my previous Tokarev Velocity video (link below), you might wonder why these velocities are so much higher. It really boils down to the altitude that I am shooting at here. I am ~3500 feet higher altitude in this test, which means the air is a bit thinner and thus the bullet has less resistance and will travel faster.
I would LOVE to do penetration testing, especially with this Tokarev cartridge, however I do not have the resources at this time to accomplish anything even remotely "scientific". Maybe in the future?
p.s. How about the ejection from this little beast of a pistol?? I think the spent casings leave the gun just as fast as the bullet!!
