By now everyone might know how to use Zoom, but not necessarily how to use Zoom to attend a yoga class. Here are my tips for getting the most out of your online classes.
1. Get the Zoom app ahead of time and learn how to use it. It's E-Z!
2. Set up your yoga space before class, and get to class early so your teacher can see your setup.
3. Use Zoom to look at yourself and your setup
4. Light yourself so that you are facing a light source placed behind your screen. Avoid backlighting if at all possible! (This includes an open door behind you.)
5. Have your mat horizontal to the camera, and FULLY visible.
6. Be prepared to adjust your screen occasionally through the class as you move from standing to sitting to reclining.
7. If possible, try to have a wall beside you instead of behind you. When we do work at the wall, it's easier for the teacher to see your side view.
