Hey guys, in this video I go over the process of how I created a Mac Shortcut that allows me to capture notes in a fast, non-obtrusive way inside Bear, my favorite note-taking application. You DO NOT NEED Alfred to use this shortcut, even though it's my preferred way to trigger it. You can also use it with Keyboard Maestro, BetterTouchTool, Shortery, or any app that allows triggering Shortcuts with Hotkeys. The Shortcut together with Alfred totally revolutionized the way I capture ideas. It also made me decide to stay with Bear and not look for other options, because with this form of capture and Bear's interface, features, and organization by tags I need no more. I hope that this video can help you build and or customize your own version of this Shortcut.

There's an update to this workflow and shortcut:

Here's a link to my previous video on Bear where I give an overview of how I organize all my notes and use this app as my Second Brain.

Here's an article on Bear's Website explaining the different options you have with X-Callback-URL and you can use them to further customize this shortcut.

NOTE: I do not go into detail on how to trigger the shortcut with other apps, but the apps I mentioned do have their option to either directly open Shortcuts or you can also use Applescript as I explained during the Alfred section.
