We Said Go Travel [ Ссылка ] September 29, 2012. After a quick walk around the market, we went to the central Sule Pagoda. It is a gigantic golden dome at the center of central Yangon. We walked over the bridge to cross the street and paid a donation for visiting the temple, which turned out only to be the shoe-watching donation. We were then approached to pay ticket fees. We wandered back into town and through a large rainstorm. We investigated at a bus agency about where to go next and how to get there.
After our visit to the synagogue (separate movie), we discovered a nearby guitar shop where they build a guitar by hand in a week.
We said our few words to them, Minglabah (hello), Nick Ow Lah (How are you?), Nick ow neh (I am fine), Thank you (Che Zoo Tembourah) and had a few smiles. They did speak more English than our Burmese!
Outside the shop, we chatted with a lovely man who told us that both the President and Aung San Suu Kyi were in America. I had read that Hilary Clinton had a meeting with the Myanmar President on September 27 at the Mark Hotel in New York City.
The man on the street said, "Our president is asking Hilary Clinton for Americans to come here." I said, "We are here." He said, "American business."
"Coca-cola is here," George said, "and MasterCard is coming soon." He said, "Yes, we need more businesses to come here."
We enjoyed some local street food and our own taste test at dinner with Star Cola.
This movie is from our 28 days in Myanmar (Burma) from September 28, 2012 to October 26, 2012 and our year TRIP in South East Asia, see all the videos from our trip: [ Ссылка ]
