In this video I have described the anatomy of the of the occipital bone. The occipital bone functions in protecting the cerebellum and occipital lobe of the cerebrum. It has three parts: squamous, lateral and basilar parts; it bears the foramen Magnum, occipital condyles, nuchal crest for attachment of the nuchal ligament, paramastoid and processes.
