The ATM caves were a sacred Mayan place where you will be able to find Maya skeletons. San Ignacio is not only close to the Guatemalan boarder but also a great jumping point to attractions such as the Maya ruins of Caracol, Xunantunich, Cahal Pech, and El Pilar as well as the Chaa Creek Nature Reserve, and the Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve.
