(31 Mar 2017) Thousands of people poured onto the streets of Buenos Aires to protest against the policies of President Mauricio Macri's government.
Union members and social groups marched in what many say is a prelude to a nationwide strike called for by the Argentine Worker's Central Union for April 6th.
Hugo Yasky, the leader of the Argentine Worker's Central Union, spoke out against what he said were 1.3 million people falling into poverty within the last year under Macri government policies.
Protesters asked for the protection of national industry and to raise salaries as well as stop lay-offs and inflation.
A group of migrants also took part in the march to protest against a recent presidential decree that changed deportation procedures, making it much easier to be removed from the country.
