I've put together a quick tutorial video on how to simulate long exposure photos with a drone. With a standard DSLR and a tripod the process is nice and straightforward as the camera won't move at all between frames, however as a drone isn't as stable just leaving it hovering for a minute with the lens open won't work as you'd just get a blurred photo. So instead I :
• Take a lot of photos just under 1 second long (slow enough to blur lights, but not so slow that there's much movement from the drone in each individual photo)
• Combine them in Photoshop which does a good job of automatically aligning the pictures.
• Blend the multiple photos into a single photo
• Add a single RAW file to allow extra detail in the darker areas and blend that in as well.
Hopefully you find it useful.
