As one era ends, another begins.
For those confused about what’s currently happening on YouTube right now: Susan Wojcicki is stepping down as the CEO of YouTube after 9 years and Neal Mohan is taking her place.
The reactions being expressed by everyone hearing about this news is a little bit mixed:
Some are celebrating and praying that the many changes that have happened which not everyone agrees with (such as the removal of the public dislike counter, the 8-15 second rule of holding off on swearing among many others) are reversed, others are worried that YouTube will get worse.
As for me and some others in the middle ground, we’re going to be taking this news of Susan’s departure and Neal’s succession with a grain of salt.
Will things get better or will they get worse? Or will things just remain the same?
Only time will tell.
