The Histoplasma GM EIA offers an in-house assay to assist in reducing the number of misdiagnosed patients. This test is a commercially available diagnostic kit for the detection of Histoplasma antigen.
The Histoplasma GM EIA has two methods to obtain results using urine samples; the Standard Curve Procedure and the Calibrator Cut-Off Procedure. The user should determine which procedure to use before starting the assay.
The Calibrator Cut-Off Procedure uses fewer microwells by using one user-created calibrator, a positive control, a negative control, and a blank. However, it has reduced sensitivity. Results of the procedure are in EIA units.
