DAYAW Season 9| Episode 6 - “Filipino BC" (Before Colonization part 2)
Curious as to how our ancestors looked like? Featured in this episode is the Boxer Codex from 1590 that shows vividly-colored illustrations of our ancestors as well as our neighbors from Southeast Asia.
Ever wondered about the earliest written document and what it revealed about our ancestors? The Laguna Copperplate, discovered in 1898, is one artifact that shows we had a calendar, a high degree of literacy, there were laws, and more importantly, we had women who represented their clan in the settlement of legal matters!
How about death? How did our ancestors view the afterlife? The Manunggul Jar is a national cultural treasure that shows that our ancestors viewed death as a transition of the soul, a continuing of a journey.
