Did you know you can sleep in a monastery, on a mountain, in Bulgaria? Rila Monastery is one of the most BEAUTIFUL places we have ever experienced.

In this episode, we start with a short drive from Bulgaria’s capital city, Sofia, into the town of Boyana to do an epic hike to an amazing waterfall, Boyana Waterfall.

This hike was the perfect mixture of challenge and fun and we highly recommend it if you are looking for things to do in Sofia.

Then we drive deeper into the mountains to experience the Rila Monastery, a place so tranquil that we felt we had to whisper.

Picture a gorgeously decorated doll house, abounded by mountains with the sound of a gushing river echoing all around you punctuated by the sound of the church bells.

Yeah, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
