The BJP is asking Rahul Gandhi to return Jawaharlal Nehru's old letters. But what's so special about these letters?
Recently, this matter was discussed in the Lok Sabha.
In 2008, some important letters and documents of Jawaharlal Nehru were handed over to Sonia Gandhi.
These letters were originally kept in the *Prime Ministers’ Museum and Library*.
However, after approval from the museum's then-director, these letters were transferred to Sonia Gandhi.
A total of 51 boxes contained these letters of Jawaharlal Nehru.
Now, the BJP is demanding that these letters be returned to the museum, as they are considered historical treasures.
These letters contain records of Jawaharlal Nehru’s communications.
They include conversations Nehru had with some very important individuals.
Among these individuals were two freedom fighters, Babu Jagjivan Ram and Jayaprakash Narayan.
The BJP claims that no one can claim ownership of these letters.
They have questioned the Gandhi family, asking what they are trying to hide from the public by keeping these letters.
