The smart protein ecosystem in India has matured over the past five years to the point where many established startups are foraying into global markets, and others are evaluating whether to follow suit. Scaling internationally is a significant endeavour, and to support this growth, the Good Food Institute India is looking to run an export-focused session that provides a clear line of sight on when and how to think through your company’s export strategy, including:
Understanding the requisite compliances, documentation and regulatory framework for the export of both smart protein end products and ingredients from India
Evaluating the export potential of your product portfolio (e.g. formats, packaging and terminology compatible with transport, regional palettes, and consumer trends)
Identifying which markets to target based on their openness to internationalisation and the regulatory path to market (taxes and duties, local labelling/nomenclature laws, etc.)
Setting up your export operations, including partnerships for shipping and distribution at the end market and accessing your target consumer
