Many of us know the joys of rooting cuttings in the winter .The gnats, the rot and the transition to the outside. All are major obstacles during winter. Well, you can mostly avoid these if you root during the summer. Right after figs fruit they stall before a new flush if growth emerges. That’s prime time to grab some cuttings and grow a big plant before winter. This is definitely climate dependent. We are at zone 9 in Fresno California.
