A nice short, 20 minute, drive between (through the middle of NZDF land) between Lake Tekapo and the eastern side of Lake Pukaki.
This starts at a turn off from the main road not far out of Tekapo, and just before the army camp. When you get to Pukaki you can go right and continue up to Mt Cook station or go left to the southern end of the lake (and back the main road)
