ANCLAS in association with COALAR and the Embassies of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru, presents The Pacific Alliance Forum
The Australian National Centre for Latin American Studies – in association with the Australian Government’s Council on Australian Latin American Relations, and the Embassies of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru – presents The Pacific Alliance Forum. The Forum will provide the academic community, government representatives in Australia, and the general public, with the opportunity to learn about the strategic coming together of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru to form The Pacific Alliance.
ANCLAS brings together distinguished speakers to discuss this substantial and emergent new regional enterprise. Attendees will be welcomed by Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington, ANU Acting Vice-Chancellor and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). The opening speaker, Parliamentary Secretary Mr Kelvin Thomson, the PM's representative at the Pacific Alliance Summit in Cali, will offer the reactions to the Alliance from the perspective of the Australian Government. The Ambassadors of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru will discuss the scope and goals of the Alliance. Finally, ANCLAS Senior Associate Dr Sean Burges will provide in-depth commentary and analysis. This is a unique opportunity to learn about The Pacific Alliance and to participate in a significant discussion.
