I visited Bayonne Railway Station in France while on holiday in Biarritz. I chose Bayonne because its Station is on the mainline network & it had a lot of character with its overall roof.
I chose a very warm overcast day to visit. I knew that there were regular train services & some mixed freight on the line. In just three hours on the platform I was able video a number of different trains including a two set TGV heading north & to my surprise a single car diesel unit on local shuttle duties. This unit looked very new & I had not seen one before in France.
The line was very busy as you would expect for a weekday morning.
The trains were immaculate & on time arriving & departing Bayonne.
The journey north to Bordeaux which I travelled on a few days before takes around 2.5 hours.
Trains travelling south terminate at Hendaye which is situated near the French border with Spain. You can change here for San Sebastian & other areas of Spain.
(Video was filmed on Canon Legria HF 20 Camcorder)
Enjoy.
