LeBron James Becomes NBA's All-Time Leader in Regular Season Minutes Played
Hello Viewers, Welcome Back to SSN24!
LeBron James has added another historic milestone to his legendary NBA career. On Thursday night, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar surpassed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar to become the NBA’s all-time leader in regular season minutes played. The remarkable achievement came during the Lakers' 113-100 victory over the Sacramento Kings at the Golden 1 Center in California.
Entering the game, LeBron needed just 10 minutes to break Abdul-Jabbar’s 35-year-old record of 57,446 minutes. He achieved the milestone in the second quarter and finished the night with 57,471 minutes after playing 34 minutes.
After the game, James reflected on the accomplishment, calling it “a pretty cool honor” and highlighting his pride in being available to his teammates for two decades. He humbly stated, “To put myself in record books in this game of basketball that I love so much… is pretty cool and very humbling.”
This record adds to James' growing list of achievements. Last season, he also surpassed Abdul-Jabbar for the most minutes played, including playoffs, reaching an astounding 66,297 minutes.
LeBron, playing in his 22nd NBA season, continues to defy age with exceptional performances. The 39-year-old is averaging 22.6 points, 7.9 rebounds, and nine assists per game for the Lakers this season.
Earlier this year, James created history again by becoming the first player to share the NBA court with his son, Bronny James, marking a new milestone as the league’s first father-son duo to play in the same game.
The NBA's all-time leading scorer, a four-time MVP, and a four-time NBA champion, LeBron James continues to solidify his status as one of the greatest players the sport has ever seen.
