Narendra Modi submitted his formal resignation as the Prime Minister of India to President Droupadi Murmu earlier today. The president accepted his formal recognition and requested him to continue with the duties till the new cabinet takes oath later this week. Narendra Modi also submitted the resignations of all his cabinet ministers to the president. Ahead of this meeting, the Union Cabinet recommended the dissolution of the 17th Lok Sabha. It must be noted that the tenure of the 17th Lok Sabha comes to an end on June 16.
