When the original Save On Meats closed in 2009, shop owner Al DesLauriers waited for someone who would carry on his vision of a community-building enterprise. Along came Mark Brand with the vision of building a social enterprise that would kick start other businesses in the neighbourhood and provide job opportunities to the local residents. This is a vision we're proud to support, so we provided the financing and grants to make this possible.
