Visiting a garden centre where I once worked and setting up the Christmas display was such a delightful experience! It's conveniently located near me in Beaconsfield, Bucks.
Even though Dobbies boasts 77 stores, I left feeling a bit underwhelmed. I’m not blaming the staff—they receive the items and clear instructions on how to display them. However, describing the setup as dull and disappointing barely scratches the surface. It's truly a shame because many of the decorations were lovely. I'm a big fan of Gisella Graham, a brand you might have seen at other garden centre or independent retailers. I've visited their showroom myself, and it’s absolutely jaw-dropping! I’d love to take you on a tour—I’ll reach out to see if I can make it happen!
The experience just felt a bit bland. Retail isn’t just about selling products; it’s about offering solutions. These items are luxuries, not necessities, so I believe it’s crucial to inspire shoppers.
What are your thoughts? Am I being too harsh? Did you enjoy it? Do you have a Dobbies nearby? If you know of any amazing independent garden centre I should visit, please share!
