Did you have any misconceptions about perimenopause or menopause? Thinking I had to be at my grandma's age and stage of life caused me a lot of confusion. I had no idea perimenopause could start so young. We need much better widespread education. I would like to see far more information available at GPs, hospitals, and clinics, and I think every woman over forty should be given a leaflet explaining all the symptoms she should look out for and the three stages of menopause. Let me know if you agree.

To avoid any awkward questions, all relatives on my maternal side, including my mother, have passed away, so there are no older females with my genetics that I can talk to. Self-education has been my journey, and it has highlighted to me the important role our GPs and healthcare professionals should play in patient education and awareness.
