This is the updated version of my flywheel. The original flywheel had a 1:5 gear ratio on 600rpm motors. The reason for revising it was because of friction and low speed. One of the motors ending up dying so that prompted me redesign it. The old design had the motor perpendicular under the flywheel. At the time this made since, but I have since then redesigned the whole base of the robot. Also the 1:5 gear wasn’t putting the disc in the goal from autonomous, luckily changing out the gears wasn’t so bad. The updated version of the flywheel is in this video and I must say it is definitely much better that before. I’ve also took some extra precautions to reduce friction. I’m probably gonna Oder some lube to to extra safe.
