How to Use the Insta360 X3 as Webcam
I just noticed after making this video that Insta360 dropped the "ONE" name on the X3. Pardon for always mentioning ONE on this video.
UPDATE: It does have a Webcam Zoom in the settings as seen at 1:20 of this video. I tried it, but the camera can't seem to follow me around. It's staring at an empty seat beside me. 😰👻
Also, PureShot turns photos to grayscale. We need to go to Insta360 app's Album, and apply PureShot to regain the colors.
Already tried doing Factory Reset, same result.
UPDATE 2: Firmware v1.0.60 is now available in their website [ Ссылка ]
The latest update (version 1.0.60) for the X3 just dropped today and they have added the webcam function, which they promised on their product page.
The update is not yet available in the download page and only downloadable through the Insta360 app as of writing.
Let's head to the Insta360 app, connect your X3 and go to the Settings.
Tap on Device Firmware info, then Firmware Version.
Make sure you've enabled mobile data so the app can check for updates.
You can start downloading with your mobiled data, or...
go to WiFi settings, connect to your home WiFi, go back to the Insta360 app and download the new firmware, reconnect to the X3, tap Firmware Version again, and Update.
Wait for the firmware upgrade to finish and grab your X3.
Once your camera boots up, swipe down from the top to access the Settings, tap on the USB mode, and select Webcam.
Camera will automatically restart and get into USB webcam mode when USB cable connect to the computer.
There are three modes you can choose: dual cameras, front or back.
Just press the shutter button on the X3 and it will cycle to the modes.
It doesn't seem to hace the autozoom and follow just like on the X2, but hey, the update just dropped and they might address that in the future.
Hope this video helps.
