Another Cedar Rapids police officer was beaten early Saturday morning, marking the 18th assault on a peace officer already this year. Officer Lucas Liddle, 25, was treated at St. Luke's Hospital for several bumps and bruising to his head and a laceration to his lip and nose after a 19-year-old hit him in the face and others kicked and hit him. He has since been released.
