Talbina
Ingredients for Roasted Barley:
Jau ka daliya (barley) 3 cups
Cardamom powder 1/2 tsp\
Ingredients for Talbina:
Milk 1 liter
Roasted barley 1/2 cup
Honey 2 tbsp
Pistachios (chopped) 1/4 cup
Almonds (chopped) as required
Dates (sliced) as required
Directions for Roasted Barley:
1. In a pot add barley and cardamom powder. Roast it for 10-15 mins.
2. Now grind it in the grinder. Transfer it to a bowl and it can be stored for up to 1 month. Set aside.
Directions for Talbina Preparation:
3. In a pot heat milk and add roasted barley. Cook for 10-15 mins.
4. Add honey, pistachios and cook until it thickens.
5. Now dish it out and garnish it with almonds, pistachios and dates. Your Talbina is ready. Set aside.
Prep time: 15-20 mins
Cooking time: 40 mins
