【A provocative opera mirroring our times - Martinů's The Greek Passion】
A prized Czech institution and one of the leading opera houses in Central Europe, National Theatre Brno, which in recent years has delighted Festival audiences with The Makropulos Case and recorded versions of The Cunning Little Vixen and Jenůfa, gives us The Greek Passion in 2022, a provocative follow-up to earlier resounding successes.
Based on the novel Christ Recrucified by the celebrated Greek author Nikos Kazantzakis, Martinů’s poignant epic four-act opera remains immediately relevant to issues facing the world today.
This online performance was recorded live in Brno in November 2021. With renowned Czech opera director Jiří Heřman at the helm, National Theatre Brno brings together a cast of nearly 150 soloists and actors to present this masterpiece.

【捷克布爾諾國家歌劇院震撼人心歌劇新作——馬替奴《希臘受難曲》】
在上屆香港藝術節上演歌劇《耶奴法》及《狡猾的小狐狸》而大受好評的布爾諾國家歌劇院，將於本屆藝術節為觀眾帶來全新歌劇——馬替奴《希臘受難曲》。這部被譽為將現實搬上歌劇舞台的撼動之作，改編自曾獲九屆諾貝爾文學獎提名的希臘作家卡贊扎基斯的小說，故事聚焦在面對異己時的抉擇。
這場網上演出於2021年11月在捷克布爾諾國家歌劇院現場錄製，由擅長凸破空間限制的捷克歌劇名導演伊里．赫爾曼掌舵，匯聚近一百五十名獨唱家及歌劇演員，以現代而富有詩意的服裝、燈光和舞台設計，呈現這部探討人性弱點與黑暗的劃時代歌劇鉅作。
