In this video we are going to give some sophistication to our melodic lines.

Typically one would choose a minor pentatonic as the most simple scale option for soloing over a classic blues form.

We can enhance our improvisations by adding this cool trick over the V chord. Just think of a Dorian scale two steps below the root of your V chord. In this case, our V chord is E7 so we will play D Dorian. Then, add the blue note (Ab) for a really cool outside sound.

Make sure to resolve to the I chord.
