Aquarium care of Malawi cichlid Kenyi -
-Tank size - 50 Gallon or more
-pH range - 7.8 to 8.6
-Temperature range - 76.0 to 82.0° F (24.4 to 27.8° C)
-Water hardness - 10 to 15 dGH max
-Tank Decoration - As these are more of bottom dwellers (also called Mbuna for this reason) you need sand at the tank bottom & lots of rocks to create hiding places.
- Tank mates - other similar sized Malawi cichlids or same kind with 1 male for every 2 or more females.
- Filtration - as the bio-load from Kenyi fish is high, in bigger tanks canister filter is recommended. In smaller tanks over-head filter is a good option.
-Food - Kenyi fish feed on algae grown on rocks in their natural habitat, hence flakes, pellets & vegetables are good options.
