New York Mayor Bill De Blasio has told the NYPD to stop arresting pot smokers. But with great “weed freedom” comes great “weed responsibility.” So it’s time for all you Big Apple potheads to brush up on your weed etiquette. Here are some do’s and don’ts to help you get high without bothering passersby.

You can smoke in the streets now! FREEDOM! But what might be a quality-of-life gain for New York’s cannabis users, could be a quality-of-life loss for the rest of New York residents. Not if tokers are considerate of their fellow (sober) man. Being polite is easier than you think. Like: Instead of hogging up a public restroom, roll your joints at home. And if you're gonna smoke, do it outside -- take a walk around the block. Most importantly: stop forcing weed conversations onto others! We get it, you like weed, and we hate hearing about it.
