Following the incident, Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley has assured that the government will leave no stone unturned to find out what led to the deaths of 8 babies at the NICU at Port of Spain General Hospital.
• Speaking at the official opening of the new Sangre Grande hospital campus earlier today, Dr. Rowley said he was “particularly sad” because of the situation.
• He added that it may be an opportunity to lay blame; however, before that is done, he wants to know what occurred.
• The Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) is conducting an independent investigation and Dr. Rowley called on the population to await the outcome.
